Perspectives on SDG-based Resilience Planning in the Arab Region

September 12, 2019

This paper, shows many post conflict countries in the world, including in the Arab Region (e.g.Somalia, Iraq, Sudan) have already started to use the SDGs as a framework to align their national development plans.

In many instances, these plans integrate actions to tackle both humanitarian and more structural challenges and support transitions towards long-term recovery, and resilient and sustainable development.

This sends a clear signal that the ‘apparent’ divide between resilience programming and the SDGs needs to be reconsidered and more efforts should be made to anchor resilience-building action onto national SDG implementation frameworks.
