Regional Resilience &Private sector innovation workshop for improved crisis response

The UNDP Regional Bureau for Arab States (SRF), in partnership with the Ministry for Foreign Trade and Development of Finland, organized on Tuesday 8 May 2018, a half day Regional Resilience and Private Sector Innovation Workshop for Improved Crisis Response. The workshop was attended by approximately 75 participants. Over 50 Regional Refugee and Resilience Plan (3RP) stakeholders engaged with 20 Finnish private sector participants from 14 companies on how to utilize technology and new innovative approaches to address challenges to building resilience in the region.

The workshop kicked off with a partnership matchmaking session, then, using the design thinking process, participants engaged in dialogue in six thematic areas – education, the environment, energy, living conditions, housing and data, and ICT.

This summary report details the objectives, proceedings and outcomes of the meeting.
