Taher first joined UNDP in 1999 as ICT Manager and head of Prog. Support Unit Libya Country Office, after that in 2003 he joined Bureau of Management-HQ at the Office of Information Sys. and Tech.(OIST), as Telecommunications Specialist Support to Country Offices. Following that assignment in 2004 he moved to the Regional Bureau for Arab States in New York, as ICT Manager and Resource Management support to COs, in 2008 he joined the regional center in Cairo as a Regional Information Officer.
Currently, he is managing the Centre Operations, Resource Management advisory, in addition managing a project on Early Warning and Crisis Management executed by the regional centre in the League of Arab States. He is also an Operations Surge Advisor and has strong experience in supporting countries in crisis, as demonstrated in Gaza, Juba, Somalia, Egypt, Libya, and Algeria.
He holds a Masters in Computer Science, City College University, New York, “Artificial Intelligence for Human Development Indicators Prediction” , 2004 - , B.Sc. Computer Engineering, Robotics, Tripoli University, Libya ,1996
