    UNDP receives $15 million for enhancing voter registration in Yemen

    Sana'a - The United Kingdom, Sweden and Japan announced today a contribution of US $15,200,000 in support of the coming voter registration, Referendum and electoral process in Yemen. This support will be channeled through the Multi-donors Basket Fund, administered by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and will serve to bolster the implementation of the Support to the Elections during the Transitional Period (SETP) project in Yemen.

    Working as one to fight corruption in Iraq

    UNDP has launched a National Anti-Corruption campaign to educate over 3,000 people on the dangers of corruption. The campaign will last until November 2013 and will consist of 96 workshops educating government officials and non-governmental organisations on the types of corruption, the role of responsible citizens and how to report a suspected violation.

    Memorandum of understanding signed between Princess Sumaya University for Technology and Higher Council for Youth

    In 2012, UNDP and the Higher Council for Youth joined forces to implement the Youth Participation in Local Governance project. The aim is to use innovative methods and new media to foster Jordanian youth political participation by increasing their awareness about local governance and political participation at the local level . The project identified ‘gamification’ as a tool to spread more awareness about civic engagement.
