UNDP Sudan celebrates Mother’s Day
Staff at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Sudan paid tribute today to their mothers, sisters, spouses and daughters in celebration of Mother’s day. Speeches were given, poetry recited and joyful signing accompanied the ceremony to mark this important day in everyone’s life. National and international staff members reminisced about their upbringing in different parts of the world only to agree on the central role played by mothers and the positive influence they had on everyone’s lives.
Retired UNDP staff members also attended the joyful event and were honored by the newly appointed UN Resident Coordinator (Designate) Mr. Ali Al-Za’tari who saluted their contributions in enriching UNDP’s professional and social life, stressing on the important role played by women in trying to make a difference in today’s world.
Al-Za’tari also thanked the organizers of the event emphasizing that the event reflected the true spirit of UNDP Sudan and urged them to continue engaging with each other on various professional and social domains, as it sets a model for other UNDP offices around the world.
