In partnership with the Heartland Alliance foundation, UNDP Iraq recently sponsored a photo exhibition in Sulaymaniyah.

The exhibition forms part of UNDP’s project, ”Access to Justice for Vulnerable Iraqis” and to raise awareness on issues facing Iraqi citizens including gender based violence, trafficking, forced marriage, economic exploitation of children and violations against human rights.

The photo exhibition, entitled “What the Eye Doesn’t See: The Faces of Vulnerability in Iraq”, was an opportunity to inform the public about their rights under the Iraqi Constitution and the laws that enforce it.

Three of the artists who contributed to the exhibition, and members of UNDP Iraq and the Heartland Alliance were present to take questions from the media and the general public.

The exhibition was widely advertised and attracted hundreds who were able to participate in various activities including a photography competition.

Currently, the exhibition is on display at the Investigation Court in Erbil, from 20 May the photo exhibition will move to the Courthouse in Sulaymaniyah
