National HDR in process of implementation, set to pave road for development
Kuwait's Minister of Public Works and the Minister of the State for Planning and Development Affairs, Dr. Fadhel Safar, has applauded efforts on the achievement of implementing Kuwait's Human Development Report in collaboration with UNDP Kuwait and the Arab Planning Institute. During workshop, geared to build a platform for the report, Dr. Safar explained: "The growing number of population requires constant studying of the relationships among people building up the capacity of the workforce in keeping with the surrounding changes and developments.
H.E. Dr. Fadel Safar hailed as an "impressive achievement" the initiation of the human development report by a constellation of national academics and experts in collaboration with UNDP Kuwait.
"The growing number of population requires constant studying of the relationships among people and building up the capacity of the workforce in keeping with the surrounding changes and developments," the minister, also the Chairman of the Consultative Council of the national report, explained.
He made the remarks in an address at a workshop organized by the Arab Planning Institute (API) on the first report, to be issued late this year in collaboration with experts from UNDP Kuwait.
"Development of the report is an impressive achievement that comes at a time when we are on the threshold of launching an ambitious development plan," Dr. Safar noted.
The National Human Development Report will help actors in development to have a better understanding of the needs of the country to and to support initiatives geared for the advancement of the country in the future.
