Riyadh, The Solar Arabia Summit sponsored by UNDP  which serves as supporting organization and will be hosted by King Saud University during the 23rd and 24th of October 2011.

The summit will bring together key policy-makers, government officials, investors and business conglomerates involved in shaping Saudi Arabia's solar energy future. The summit will provide an opportunity to capitalize on the Kingdom's investment of US$100 billion in the solar energy sector and its objective to achieve 5 gigawatts of solar generated power by the year 2020. Up to 150 carefully screened and personally invited: chairpersons, presidents, owners, c-level directors and investment executives from the largest financial institutions in the GCC will be attending.

The attending project developers and solar technology manufacturers will meet prospective investors and project holders looking to develop the solar energy sector. This will provide a great opportunity for attendees to interact with prospective Saudi Arabian investors through pre-scheduled one-to-one meetings and networking sessions.

The summit will also provide an opportunity to showcase expertise, technology and solutions to pre-qualified potential investors and financiers. Industry leaders including ABB, Alstom Power, Conergy and Solairedirect have already confirmed their participation. In addition, respected representatives from the Ministry of Water and Electricity and Saudi Electricity Company have extended their support.
