UNDP hosts private sector roundtable in Kuwait
Kuwait City - The United Nations Development Programme in Kuwait hosted a roundtable discussion on promoting the private sector development in The State of Kuwait. The event took place at the UN House in Mishref and included participants interested in improving the private sector.
The dialogue focused on issue of the Home Business License (HBL) in Kuwait and various other issues related to private sector development and the support of its actors. The event was attended by UNDP Resident Representative a.i., Stein R. Hansen, and the Assistant Resident Representative, Mubarak AlAdwani, and numerous representatives in the field.
Mr. Mubarak AlAdwani asserted:”The HBL is an integral part of an overall focus on improving Business environments in Kuwait which UNDP is working on, other aspects include working with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to automize business license issuance processes.”
The informal meeting concentrated on current and previous experiences with dealing with local entrepreneurs in all aspects. The areas that were covered vary in scope from regulatory and credit environment to ministry capacities and more. The event was successful in that it tackled pertinent issues in today’s economic landscape while engaging different actors from the field.
