Top UN Development Official for Arab States to visit Egypt

Cairo, Egypt- Dr. Mourad Wahba, Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations, Assistant Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Director of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Arab States and Chair of the Arab States and Middle East and North Africa Regional United Nations Development Group (UNDG), will be arriving to Egypt this Friday 3 March 2017 for a three-day visit to meet high-level government officials and discuss development issues and its importance.

The Secretary General has appointed Dr. Wahba last February as the UNDP Regional Director for Arab States. In his first visit to the region since his appointment, Dr. Wahba will be meeting with the League of Arab States’ leaders to discuss regional cooperation while in his meetings with the Egyptian government, he will discuss ways to support the Sustainable Development Strategy – Egypt 2030, the Sustainable Development Goals and efforts to eradicate poverty, empower women, climate change and biodiversity protection.
