Country Office Support and Engagement
The Facility aims to enhance UNDP’s overall response in countries affected by the Syrian refugee crisis in the sub-region: Syria, Lebanon, Turkey, Jordan, Iraq, and Egypt. The Facility acts as a think-tank and knowledge hub to test and scale-up innovative development solutions, and advocacy, outreach and resources mobilization efforts, in support of UN Resident/Humanitarian Coordinators, UN Country Teams and UNDP Country Offices.
The Facility has succeeded in bridging the gap between humanitarian assistance and sustainable human development through introducing the resilience-based development approach and ensuring a common regional response to the crisis, hence helping build an infrastructure for peace.
The SRF supports UNDP Country offices in the sub-region through joint strategic planning, programming, public outreach, resource mobilization, advisory services and connecting the offices with technical advisors through regional policy fora. Furthermore, through research, information management, the development of tools and positioning papers, the SRF assists Country Office’s in identifying policies and best practices for implementing stabilization related strategies and interventions.
