UNDP Yemen COVID-19 Response (November 2020)

December 12, 2020

In our sixth COVID-19 newlsetter, see how UNDP continues to work with local implementing partners to make a difference in preparing, responding and recovering from the quick-spreading COVID-19 in Yemen.

Our integrated approach includes action around (a) helping Yemen prepare for and protect people from the pandemic and its impacts; (b) responding during the outbreak; and, (c) recovering from the economic and social impacts in the months to come. Specifically, we are working to support Yemen to strengthen the health systems by helping procure much needed medical supplies, quickly leveraging digital technologies and ensuring health workers are paid. We are also working across key sectors to slow the spread of the virus and to provide social protection for vulnerable populations. And we are supporting the assessment of social and economic impacts of COVID-19 and taking urgent recovery measures to minimize long-term impact, particularly for vulnerable and marginalized groups, and to help Yemen recover.
