The regional electoral assistance project will hold the 7th webinar about the impact of COVID19 on election observation.
With the increased technical, political and social risks posed by covid-19 to elections, the role of election observers has become even more critical to inclusion, transparency and accountability in the process. As more governments and electoral authorities adapt and push forward with election planning, the webinar will help to better understand how election observers are coping with the new normal, what challenges they face in conducting election observation in the middle of a global pandemic, and it will help to offer recommendations for electoral authorities and assistance providers on how to support and ensure observers can effectively play their role in safeguarding election integrity.
